Return is the first organisation I created — a non-profit built around charity events and gaming culture, run with volunteers and close to no resources.
What we did
- Save Our Prince: full organisation of a charity streaming marathon — programming, hosting, partnerships, fundraising.
- Coverage of international events: E3, in 2019 and 2020.
- Team management: recruiting and coordinating volunteers and creatives.
What it taught me
That volunteering is the hardest management there is: nobody is paid, so everybody can leave tomorrow. What holds a team together is understanding what it's for and seeing the result.
That's where I worked out that I didn't only want to make images — I wanted to carry projects.
